SINGAPORE BASED MATCHDAY CENTRAL LAUNCHES GLOBAL FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE PLATFORM
Matchday Central will empower a next generation of football supporters to watch their favourite teams in action anytime, anywhere
SINGAPORE – 1 November 2022 – After successfully scoring over 500 match tickets via to coveted cup and league matches in the United Kingdom and across Europe for football fans across Asia, co-founders Luke Koh and Rajpal Singh, have come together to launch Matchday Central, a new platform for curated football experiences for fans all over the world.
Capitalising on the growth of sports as an entertainment lifestyle choice in Asia, Matchday Central (“MC”) will launch live on 4 October 2022 and will enable football supporters to immerse themselves in the magic of the English Premier League first-hand.
“Through the support of a grant from the Singapore Government, we partnered with local digital marketing company and coders – Alphabet Six Marketing – to co-create a unique platform that goes beyond the value proposition of most other ticketing sites which focus just on tickets only. We have curated a portal that allows for greater flexibility to fans to complete their football experience on a single online platform,“ shared Singh.
Leveraging the learnings from ticketing over the last three years, both Koh and Singh spotted a gap in the market where many Singaporeans and Regional fans did not have access to watching their favourite team play.
Therefore the time was right to scale up so that consumers can complete the customer journey from a one-stop portal. Users can select their tickets and add hotel accommodation options at central locations across the United Kingdom.
While the platform focuses on the six most followed teams of the English Premier League, Matchday Central is continuously adding match tickets and experiences from other European leagues – from the Bundesliga to Serie A – to fulfil the ever-growing customer demand from across Asia.
Matchday Central has focused its initial launch for football fans in lucrative growing economies in the region, with plans of penetrating other markets globally in the near future. Dinesh Singh, Matchday Central’s Marketing Director added: “Our launch will centre on seven regional Asian markets including Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand. We are a purely online operation; however, we do leverage on fan-based events for branding and awareness.”
“Matchday Central will leverage an existing network of travel agents in the local markets for greater reach to the older segment. Whilst the team on the ground in the United Kingdom has already been deployed to ensure that our customers receive the best possible footballing experience the EPL has to offer,” Singh added.
